About us

Welcome to Pine Village Volunteer Fire Department

"Everyone Comes Home"

Above is our Mission Safety Statement.

Mission Statement

To protect the residents and property within the Pine Village Volunteer Fire Protection District from the effects of loss due to fire through Prevention, Education, Mitigation, and Supression; and to assist as possible our neighboring Fire Departments through Mutual Aid Agreement and Contract with Commitment and Compassion

We are a small all Volunteer Fire Department, located "in-between" Mayflower and Conway.  Technically, we are West of Mayflower up on the hill.

We run a lot of fire calls in the normal course of a year.  This year "2021" we have run a lot of the "normal" call load that a fire department runs, where the majority of the calls are medical calls.  We have a TOTAL of 18 members.  2 of our members are Junior Firefighters and they will not be eligible to participate in the "dangerous" parts of the fire service (i.e. going into a structure fire) until they turn 18.  We have a Junior Firefighter Program Administrator who puts out the training for the junior firefighters.  We cannot administer training that is through the Arkansas Fire Academy until the member is 18 years old.  However, we train these members in the correct ways of fire suppression, fire characteristics, fire and smoke travel, movement on the fire ground and many other topics.  Not because they are able to do any of it, however, we look at as when they are of age, they will be more trained and ready than other members that we bring on, because they have trained and seen what we are training them on officially.

We have two (2) Engines for fire Suppression, one of the Engines is designated as our Rescue Engine (this is the one that will carry our Jaws of Life (extrication) equipment, once we complete the fundraiser for that.  Additionally, that Engine is what we use for providing cover on an accident scene.  The other Engine is our "First Due Engine."  This Engine is the one that we take to all structure fires as it has the biggest water tank.  We have two (2) tankers, one of these is slated for replacement, we are on the list for a replacement tanker from the Arkansas Department of Forestry.  The other Tanker (Tanker 2) is currently our primary Tanker, which we take to all fires as well as our mutual aid tanker.  When we finally take delivery of our tanker from the Department of Forestry, then Tanker 2 will move to the second due, and the new Tanker will take the "First Due" tanker and will be Tanker 1.  We have one Brush Truck which is our Wildland (Natural Cover, aka grass fires) truck.  We have one Side by Side which we use to be able to get water deeper into wooded areas with water.
